Episode 18: How to take super quick decisions with your intuition
What happens when an opportunity comes onto your path? How do you decide what you should do? Do you mentally make a pros and cons list? Do you think what the right thing would be to do? Do you ask a partner or a parent or a friend? Do you choose based on what your peers are doing?
Today, I’ll talk about how to take super quick decision with your intuition.
So, something comes up that needs deciding. It doesn’t have to be a big thing necessarily. Every day, things come our way and we take decisions maybe without being very aware of it. We choose all the time.
And that’s actually part of the point I wanted to make in this talk: we’re so worried about the bigger things in our lives: should I spend my life with this person? is this job the best career step for me? can I see myself there for the coming 10 years? do I wish to raise a child? Do I want to raise it with this partner? do I want to move to this specific location? And those are moments we desperately want answers and insights from our intuition and our higher self and maybe from guides or otherwise. And we’ll get to that in a minute.
But how about every old decision that happens in our day? In my experience what works very well is to try and become more aware of the answers and the guidance and the insights in your normal day-to-day. Because we might forget it, but we have decisions to make every single day. An example could be about the food we eat. What food do we pick for ourselves? Do we pick based on desire? Maybe based on knowledge? Maybe on what others think we should eat and we don’t want to disappoint them? Whatever it is, these decisions about what you put in your mouth every day are not considered the big decisions BUT however small the issues might seem, all of them can be taken in awareness and in connection with your intuition. Your intuition, your true self, and maybe other energies as well such as guides or angels or whatever you prefer to connect to, give you direct guidance and insight in choosing the things that are best for you, that fit you, that lie on your purpose path as I call it.
Being on your purpose path means that you can live your purpose all the time if you take it one step at a time. What that means is that you’re not waiting around for some being declaring your big purpose in life, maybe even with special fireworks, and that until that time you’re just doing your best but still waiting, and, we imagine, áfter that time, life will become completely aligned and clear because we’ll be living our purpose. Right? Sound familiar for you too?
But we can live a life on purpose every day. This originates from the idea that if you follow your own light, your talents, the things that give you joy and if with that, you listen very carefully to what it actually is that is right for you, with everything that you do, and you follow the ideas, promps, sudden light bulbs going off, all those things, coming from your higher self, your intuition…. If you can do that and follow that, then you make sure you’re always living life on purpose. Because for us, ourselves, it’s often not clear how we can get somewhere, how we can live our purpose step by step, but your intuition, your higher self, does know. And you can probably imagine, if you would take those small inklings, prompts, ideas every time, and you would look back a year or so later, you could see how that would add up to something making a lot of sense and actually when put together is a complete road somewhere. But in those individual instances, you wouldn’t have figured it would make a lot of difference, if you were to turn right or left on that street for example.
So, that’s why, it’s so incredibly important to all throughout your day, stay in connection to yourself your intuition, to make sure you’re living your purpose path. And if you do that, it will become so much easier to not only make the smaller, minor decisions, but also know what to do with those bigger issues. Because they just flow easier, because all the other decisions were made in line with your purpose path too, and it becomes one moving revolving, energetic system, all of it working together and making more sense every time you’re taking a ‘right’ step, every time you accept an opportunity that fits your purpose path. I know it sounds amazing, and I’ve seen it happen, that the more and more you listen ánd act on what you get, the more it all starts to make sense and the easier it becomes to make out the hints and prompts that are presented to you.
Okay, now. How do you go about it, taking a decision with your intuition?
There are a zillion beautiful & pérfect ways to do this. The easier and quickest that I know of, has to do with feeling inside your body and how it communicates “yes” and “no” to you.
If you have the time, you can start out breathing very consciously in and out a few times, maybe 4 times. This will ground you and center you a bit, so can better ‘hear’ and feel what your intuition wants to let you know.
If not that’s also fine. Put one hand on your 4th chakra, so here between your breasts at heart level and one hand on your belly just below your belly button, so that’s your 2nd chakra.
Breathe in and out and Imagine and feel and visualize more than actually saying to yourself what your issue is.
There are many ways your body communicates a yes and a no to you. For me, it’s quite clear that “yes” to any question is a feeling of expansion, of extra space becoming available all of a sudden, of taking a breath – and most of the times I do take a big breath unconsciously, so when that happens, I know my answer. It feels lovely, and roomy, big. A “no” is the opposite, it’s a bit less obvious in my own case, I will need to pay extra attention, but it’s a very constricting feeling, my muscles will crunch a bit – or a lot – my shoulders hunch a little forward, as if protecting me from the idea I just gave in.
Give it a moment or two, breathe and try to just be open, without stearing the outcome. That’s why breathing works well, as it takes your mind out of the game more. Then you have your answer.
So this way working with your intuition is kind of 2fold: you listen to prompts you get – and of course, very important, you act on what you get, and then when you have something happening that you don’t know what to do with, how to handle, what to pick, you can investigate in this “yes”/”no” way what way to go.
That’s it. If you try it out, would you do me the honor of letting me know how it went?
