About your intuitive type

You sometimes have the feeling of connecting, of feeling at peace and feeling calm but you seem to lose it too quickly again and you can find it hard to hold on to it. You may even wonder if you can trust the clues you get from your intuition, things that suddenly come up for example, over your logic reasoning.

You know for yourself you want a stronger connection to your soul, even if you already have it sometimes, but it can happen that you doubt the things you hear or feel.

You are a bit further in the intuitive world then some others: you likely don’t doubt that you have an intuition, you just experience some obstacles to make that connection as profound as it can be, because you don’t know what to do, you don’t have the time or you don’t know if you can trust it, for example. That’s why I have selected a wider variation of tools for you. Don’t get overwhelmed by them! The idea is that you’ll have a different variety of tools available, so you can start to build the routine and your trust in your connection and your intuition. You pick one that suits you at one particular moment, and at another time, you do something else. The important part is to enjoy the experience of it, deal?

Growing your trust in the voice of the soul – your intuition

If I may take a guess: I think that you’re aware that you are guided sometimes, by your intuition, or your inner wisdom or your soul: a small voice in the back of your mind, or a feeling in the pit of your stomach…. But you may find it hard to know what to do with it. Where does it come from? Can it be trusted? What if it doesn’t make a lot of sense? What if I already made another decision?

Or you may believe in the concept of that guidance, but don’t know how to get it, hear it, see it and how to really connect to your soul.

You can start a change by looking at the connection with your soul from a different agle. Just humor me….

The voice of the thinking mind and the voice of the intuiton

How do we know it is in fact our intuition that’s ‘talking’ here?

The voice of your thinking mind is loud and it wants to be right. It can be very convincing and it it taps into your fear or anger or jealousy or other ‘negative’ emotions. It addresses your insecurities head on. Thoughts coming up could be something along the lines of: “You’re not worth it.”, “It’s not safe” and “You couldn’t do that if your life depended on it!” or “That may work for others, but not for you”.

The voice of your soul, your intuition doesn’t speak much and it’s voice is soft. You really have to pay attention and listen hard to actually hear the golden advice it gives you. It’s messages are based on love alone, and always assume the best of you. It never uses insecurities or fear. It might just come in as a subtle feeling or a soft, gentle voice, very difficult to distinguish over all the other noice.

How to get more of the voice of the soul?

How can you respectfully allow the thinking mind to step aside a bit to let in the sound of the soul more clearly? The first, most important step is to start to become aware of when your intuition is giving you guidance. You can start this by practicing your awareness, using your thinking mind as little as you can. That’s exactly what we’ll do in the Intuitive Walking Practice.

1. Journal Prompts

In these journal prompts we’ll look into how our relationship with our own intuition has been up untill now, ánd how we would want it to become going forwards.

I know you don’t have much time to spare. You could do these prompts by intuitively writing down what comes to mind when you sit down to write. Try writing with your ‘wrong’ hand or typing with 10 fingers, so your mind is occupied elsewhere and can’t interfere as much in the contents of what you’re writing.

But if you do have 10 minutes to spare, I suggest you do the prompts áfter the Intuitive Walking Practice.

By walking mindfully you’ll practice becoming more aware of other parts of yourself then just the thinking mind and you’ll learn to recognize when your body or your soul is guiding you. Just listen to the audio and go with it.

Take your phone, record a voice memo or jot down a few words and upon returning take notes of how it all went. Pick a spot to walk and make it the least crowded option near from where you are now, preferably with as little cars as possible.

2. Body Scan Drawing

For another day you if you can take 5 or 10 minutes, you can dive into the body scan drawing. You will investigate how you are doing on the inside, and connect to yourself at a whole new level then what you have been used to so far probably.

This is how: take the paper, sit down comfortably and close your eyes. Take a few deep, calming breaths and turn your attention inwards deep into your body. Keep breathing and inquire where attention is needed – and patiently wait. While keeping your eyes closed, draw on your paper what you ‘saw’.

When you have some time to spare (I know you’re busy, so optional) it is highly effective to do this exercise combined with the Body Wisdom Practice (audio guided).

In this short exercise of under 5 minutes, you’ll be guided through this ‘physical check’ of your body at an energetic level

3. Different ways to meditate

Because you’re an active person, it might not be your preferred style to do sitting-down meditation, or, even if you like it, it might be very beneficial if you could add some active meditation variations to your routine.

This podcast episode is made for you! It really dives into the possibilities to connect to yourself that are a bit less ‘traditional’.

And to save you some time: if you want to skip my introduction and personal learning journey in meditation 😉 you can start the episode at about 4:30. Enjoy!

4. Sacred time

Because you have at least a bit more time on your hands for deeper connection to your soul, we’ll look into the importance of spending that extra time on yourself: sacred time.

What counts is that you actually do it, that you spend that time, because there are some incredible effects that will have on you.

All of us can use intuitive and spiritual tools to become more aligned with who we are and live a life full of meaning, every day. You don’t need any special gifts to do it, or years of training, and you also don’t need to sit down on a pillow for an hour and think of nothing.

I’ve also added a very short guided meditation towards the end of the episode, to connect to the seat of inner wisdom within your body. The good part about this practice is that it is not only very simple and very quick, but also incredibly effective if you’re looking for answers from your soul fast. So please go and listen to this episode of just under 20 minutes from Intuition Tools Podcast: “The sacred practice of ‘me-time’; a declaration of unconditional trust and love for yourself”.
